XPSP3 pushed via Auto Update today

Infoworld is reporting that XPSP3 will be pushed via Automatic Updates today (Thursday, Jul 10) @ 10A PST.

I haven’t had any problems with SP3 so this shouldn’t be a big deal but you need to be aware that it is headed down the pipe.

You’re a righteous conservative on political matters, but let’s bring some common sense about computers to this blog:

Windows is 100% pure crap, piled on top of more crap.

Microsoft is shoving crap up one pipe and down the other.

    Windows is hopeless.

I appreciate your complement on my conservatism and I appreciate you reading, however, How is Windows %100 pure crap? Every software needs updating and I’ve yet to see another platform that offers the level of centralized policy management that Windows offers.

With the introduction of Windows Powershell and modular software setup with Server 2008 it is getting better and better. Mac has its place. Linux has its place. Windows has its place. None are crap and all serve their purpose. As of right now I consider the business desktop to be the place for Windows

We are trying to troubleshoot a weird issue we are seeing whereby in our test environment 3 separate hardware platforms we have applied SP3 to have hung in the “applying settings” state upon reboot for 45 minutes+… While I agree with the application of service packs, we are in a bit of rush trying to figure out just what is the conflict causing this issue.
