Are you still finalizing your plans for Independence Day? Allow me to suggest a new family tradition, go buy a firearm.
I saw this recommendation from Joseph Farah’s article entitled “Celebrate Heller, buy guns“. His piece reminded me of a crucial principle,
“No court is going to preserve your God-given right to bear arms and defend yourself and your family from criminals, terrorists and tyrannical government.
It’s up to you to preserve that right – by exercising it.
Rights are like muscles. You don’t use ‘em, you lose ‘em”
To illustrate the point consider the situation if the Supreme Court decided that individuals did not have a right to bear arms. Would such a decision remove my right to bear arms or would it simply conflict with my right to bear arms?
If federal agents demanded you surrender your firearms would you feel compelled to comply or an urge to resist? Your instinctual response says volumes about how you see your rights. I would not feel compelled to do so because I would consider it my right to own a firearm even if my government did not agree. The right is not given nor taken away by the US federal government, it is merely acknowledged or denied.
My right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is not granted by the United States it is granted by almighty God and until he says different I’ll defend my liberty and happiness with firearms.
God Bless America and Pass the Ammunition
